Is a biotech company listed on the “Euronext Growth Milan” market of Borsa Italiana since 2019, founded in Naples by M. Gabriella Colucci in 2004 with the aim of developing technologies and innovative solutions that find application in various industrial sectors. Arterra is a company strongly linked to the Naples area from which it derives the natural raw materials underlying many of its actives, as well as being able to take advantage of the ideas and enthusiasm of its young researchers.

The raw materials produced through the use of freeze-drying technology are stable, do not need preservatives and are easy to handle. In this way, we can cope with the ever-increasing volumes required by the reference markets.

Bachelor and Master degree in Agronomy at the University of Naples “Federico II”, Italy, in 1990. She worked as Researcher in Italy, Nigeria, USA and Australia. She worked as Senior Research Scientist at Arena Pharmaceuticals, San Diego, California. In November 2003, she returned to Italy to build up Arterra Bioscience Srl. In 2018, she received the Marisa Belisario Award and the EU Prize for Women Innovators. In 2022, she received the “I Giganti del Mattino” Award.
MARIDA BIMONTE
Project and IP Manager
Bachelor and Master degree in Biology at the University of Naples “Federico II” in 2000. She got her PhD in Genetics from the University of Naples in 2005 and an executive master in Intellectual Property from LUISS Business School, Rome, Italy, in 2017. Before working in Arterra, she was a Research Scientist at Department of Biochemistry and Medical Biotechnology, University “Federico II”, and at Institute of Genetics and Biophysics, IGB, Naples. She published 21 scientific articles in international journals and she is inventor of 13 patents..
Annalisa Tito
Director of Molecular and Cellular Biology
Master degree in Industrial Biotechnology at the University of Naples “Federico II” in 2003. She got a II level specializing Master in “Advanced Biotechnology for Molecular Diagnosis and Therapy” from Ceinge s.c. a r.l. in 2005 and PhD in “Insect Science and Biotechnology” from University of Basilicata in 2008. She has working at Arterra from 2008 as Research Scientist. She published 28 scientific articles in international journals and she is inventor of 10 patents.
VINCENZO FOGLIANO
Chief Scientific Officer
Degree in chemistry at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Italy, in 1990. He carried out research activities at the University of Naples “Federico II”, Italy, and is the Director of the Food Quality & Design Department of the University of Wageningen, the Netherlands, for 8 years now. Thanks to the relevance of his numerous scientific publications, he was constantly present, since 2013, in the ranking of the most influential scientists in the world in the agri-food sector issued by the Clarivate (www.clarivate.com). Prof. Fogliano was hired on a fixed-term and part-time basis, thus allowing him to continue his academic activity.

Master Degree at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Naples "Federico II", Italy, in 2011. He has been qualified as an engineer since 2012 and has managed production processes in national and multinational companies in Italy. Before joining Arterra, he was Technical Director at Clean Consult International SpA, Manufacturing Excellence Leader at Unilever Italia Manufacturing Srl, Process Engineer at Chemtex SpA (Mossi&Ghisolfi SpA Group) and Quality Assurance Engineer at SEDA International Packaging Group.
GUALTIERO IOIMO
Chief Financial Officer
Degree in Economics and Commerce at the University of Naples "Federico II", Italy, in 1991. He carried out international tax planning activities in Rome, Italy. In 1995, he founded the consulting firm of Studio Ioimo and carries out tax, corporate and financial consultancy activities as a Senior Consultant. Before working in Arterra he was a lecturer for training and tutoring courses for the Moccia Group SpA, the Faculty of Engineering “Federico II” and for the Regions of Campania and Lazio and he has written various articles.
