Maria Gabriella Colucci

Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer


Founder, President and CEO of Arterra Bioscience, since 2004 until today, as well as Founder and CEO of Vitalab Srl, since 2010. Her education in the field of plant genetics began at the University of Naples and continued at the Washington State University in the department of Genetics and Cell Biology, at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, at the University of California in San Diego and at CSRIO in Canberra (Australia).

Between 1998 and 2000, she was a researcher at the University of California in San Diego, while, between 2000 and 2003, she was Senior Researcher and Head of the plant biology department at Arena Pharmaceuticals Inc. of San Diego. Between 2000 and 2006, she was Scientific Advisor of Phylogix Inc. Until 2014, she was also a member of the Scientific Committee of Isagro S.p.A. Between 2005 and 2008, she was Director of Tecnapoli S.c.a.r.l and, between 2004 and 2006, she was Consultant for the Business Plan of GEAR, Regional Center for Applied Genomics for Research.

Dr. Colucci has been awarded on several occasions: in 2006, as Prima Donna of Campania Region, in 2018 she won the EU Women Innovator Prize and the Marisa Bellisario award.

Gualtiero Ioimo

Counselor, CFO and Investor Relations Manager


Graduated in economics and commerce at the University of Naples “Federico II” in 1991, he obtained the qualification to practice as a Doctor Accountant, by enrolling in the relevant Register in 1993; in 1995 he obtained the qualification of an Auditor Accountant.

Since 1994 he has been carrying out tax, corporate, fiscal and administrative consultancy,
management control, cost-benefit analysis and financial planning activities for
companies operating throughout the national territory; he draws up finalised feasibility plans obtaining national and international funding.

Fabio Apone

Counselor


Graduated in Biology in 1994, he subsequently obtained the title of PhD in Protistology (Biology of unicellular organisms) at the University of Pisa in 1998. He worked for 3 years as a Researcher in Italy and at the University of San Diego, California. Later he was a Researcher at Arena Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Biotech Company based in San Diego, California, working on the study of plant receptors for the discovery of new agropharmaceuticals.
He was Co-founder and Scientific Director of Arterra Bioscience until July 2021, and since 2013 he has also been Scientific Coordinator and Member of the Board of Directors of Vitalab srl, a joint-venture engaged in the development and marketing of active ingredients for the cosmetic market. His scientific expertise covers the areas of cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, development of bioassay, plant physiology and signal transduction mechanisms in plant and animal cells.
His recent work has mainly focused on applied research, aimed at the discovery and characterization of innovative active ingredients in the fields of agriculture, cosmetics and nutraceuticals. He is co-author of over 45 scientific publications and co-inventor of 18 patents.

Vittorio Turinetti di Priero

He graduated with honors in Law at the University of Turin in 1995. He is a Founding Partner of the LCA Studio Legale in 2004 where he is currently a Member of the Executive Committee and Head of the Corporate M&A Department.
Previously, he worked in the legal department of a multinational firm and later he continued his career at a law firm in Brussels.

In 1996, he began his professional collaboration with the English studio Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, first in the Paris office, then in Milan. He has always been involved in M&A and extraordinary transactions, such as mergers, demergers, acquisitions and sales of shareholdings, the transfer of companies and company branches, restructuring and joint venture operations, including listed companies.
He has gained significant experience in business management, assisting numerous companies in M&A operations that involved listed companies.

Luigi Nicolais

Independent Counselor


He is an Italian Engineer, Politician and Lecturer, he was President of the National Research Council from 18 February 2012 to 18 February 2016. He is author of over 350 scientific publications, he was full Professor of “Polymer Technologies” at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Naples “Federico II” and Director of the “Institute for the Technology of Composite Materials” of the CNR.

He is a member of the 2003 Group, a forum of Italian researchers who, working in Italy, are included in the ranking, compiled by the ISI (Institute for Scientific Information) of Philadelphia, which incorporates the most cited scientists in the world. He was also a Professor at the University of Washington and the University of Connecticut in Storrs.
